By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify Key Challenges: Compare the dietary and lifestyle restrictions imposed by each condition, prioritize problems faced by patients and healthcare providers
- Enhance Patient Support Strategies: address parental concerns effectively, apply motivational interviewing techniques to encourage adherence and behavioral change.
- Improve Practical Management Skills: Assess adherence of people with T1DM and celiac disease to dietary recommendations, analyze food labels for gluten and carbohydrate content, make informed decisions about packaged vs. non-packaged food choices.
- Evaluate the Impact on Daily Life: Discuss the psychological and social challenges of managing both conditions, develop strategies to improve quality of life for affected individuals.
